RACE DAY PARKING & DRIVING DIRECTIONS

There are 3 main parking areas…all of which are within 1/4 mile of the Start/ Finish area.
All parking is FREE OF CHARGE. There will be signs & parking ushers to help out.
It is strongly recommended to be parked by 6:30 am. THE MAIN ACCESS ROAD (CR 77) FOR ALL PARKING WILL CLOSE DOWN FROM 7:15 AM TO 8:00 AM FOR THE RACE START! If you register on Friday night and show up ater 7:15 on Saturday morning, your only chance to park will be to wait until after the start of the half marathon has cleared, parking quickly and running to the start line.

Parking Lot # 3 Grass Parking at the corner of CR 77 & CR 168…1/4 mile North of the starting line
5k Runners will be able to leave prior to the other races ending by either parking in Parking Lot 3 or accessing the northern driveway of Grace Mennonite and heading north on CR 77. (See parking map below)

Directions from Akron/ Canton Area
Take 77 S to US 30 W to US 62 W to Co Hwy 77 (Co Hwy 77 will be a left turn just before you get into the town of Berlin.)

Directions from Cleveland Area
Take 71 S to OH 83 S to US 250 E. Head South (right) on Fredericksburg Rd just East of Wooster. Fredericksburg Rd will turn into County Rd 201 after the town of Fredericksburg. Continue S on 201 to SR 39. Head east (left) onto SR 39 and then north (left) onto Co Hwy 77 until you reach race parking.

Directions from Columbus Area
Take 62 E to Co Hwy 77. (Co Hwy 77 will be a right turn just after the town of Berlin)

An alternative to this would be to take 71 N to US 30 E to US 250 E followed by South (right) on Fredericksburg Rd just East of Wooster. Fredericksburg Rd will turn into County Rd 201 after the town of Fredericksburg. Continue S on 201 to SR 39. Head east (left) onto SR 39 and then north (left) onto Co Hwy 77 until you reach race parking.

PACKET PICKUP
Packet Pickup will take place at Grace Mennonite Church (Upper Level) 5850 Co Hwy 77, Millersburg, OH 44654. The upper level of the church where packet pickup takes place is on the parking lot side of the church.
It is strongly recommended to pick up your packet on Friday Sept 7 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
For runners not able to make it on Friday there will be a late Race Day Packet Pickup Saturday from
5:30 am to 7:00 am
Each runner should pick up their own packet, and verify their information. If you are unable to pick up your own packet, a family member or friend may pick up your packet by verifying your information.
All runners will receive their long sleeved tec shirts at packet pickup.
All half marathoners will receive their Taste of Amish Country box at packet pickup.

BIB INFO
Your race bib serves as your identification for the race and must be pinned on the front of your shirt. Safety pins will be provided at the time of pick up. Please verify the registration data on your bib at the time of packet pick up. Correct information allows medical staff to correctly identify participants in need of treatment and allows for accurate awards and race results.
Overall winners will be based off of Gun Time.

RACE START

Half Marathon / 10k
The Start Line will be located at the bottom entrance of Grace Mennonite Church. The Race will start promptly at 7:30 am. Both Half Marathoners and 10k runners will line up in the start line corral together. There will not be a separate start for 10k runners. The Vertical Runner Pace Team will be lined up in the corral with pace time signs to help you line up in the proper starting position. It is advised to line up with your pacer according to your anticipated time. This will allow for a smoother start for everyone. Walkers should line up in the back of the corral. Runners will go through the arch and make a right onto
Co Hwy 77.

5k Race
THE MAIN ACCESS ROAD (CR 77) FOR ALL PARKING WILL CLOSE DOWN FROM 7:00 AM TO 8:00 AM FOR THE RACE START! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE PARKED PRIOR TO THAT. IF YOU REGISTER FRIDAY NIGHT AND SHOW UP AFTER 7:00 AM YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO PARK WOULD BE IN PARKING LOT # 3 (FURTHEST LOT TO THE NORTH ON THE MAP) BY WAITING UNTIL ALL HALF AND 10K RUNNERS HAVE PASSED THIS INTERSECTION AROUND 7:45 AND RUSHING TO THE START LINE BEFORE YOUR 8AM START!
5k participants should begin entering the corral once all Half Marathoners and 10k Runners have left. The 5k Race will start promptly at 8:00 am. 5k Runners will go through the arch and make a left onto Co Hwy 77. 5k Runners should be aware of 10K finishers coming towards them as they begin their race.

Restrooms
Portable Restrooms will be located at the Start / Finish area as well as at the Miller Scenic Aid Station at the 5.4 mile mark of the half marathon course.

COURSE DETAILS

The Half Marathon, 10k & 5k are run on a combination of mostly paved back roads. Runners are responsible for paying attention to signs and volunteers pointing them in the right direction for the race they are running. Please note: the Half Marathon and 10k split at 1.75 miles into the course. The Half will make a left onto 401 and the 10k will continue straight on CR 168. Members of our volunteer fire department and other volunteers will be at all major intersections to guide runners in the right direction.

Course Limit
All races will conclude at 11:30 am.

Course Signage
There will be signs along the route directing you in the direction of your next turn.
Each mile will be marked by a large mile marker sign with one of our adoptive families sponsored by our beneficiary Pure Gift of God.

Restrooms
There will be portable restrooms at the Millers Scenic Aid Station 5.4 miles into the Half Marathon route.

Fluid Stations
There will be 6 fluid stations along the half marathon course.
Rolling Ridge Aid Station at mile 1.5
Indian Trail Creek Aid Station at mile 3.3
Miller Scenic Aid Station Aid Station at mile 5.4 (Restrooms Available)
Weaver Ridge Aid Station at mile 7
Goose Bottom Aid Station at mile 8.1 and 10.5 (Gel Available)
Berlin Valley Aid Station at mile 11.55 (This will be just after the 5k turnaround)

Energy Gels will be provided at the Goose Bottom Aid Station at mile 8.1

Prohibited on the Race Course
For the safety of our runners, the Amish Country Half Marathon does not permit: pets, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades or any other types of vehicles on the course. Except for service dogs, pets are not allowed in the start and finish line areas. Please do not bring or carry any of these items with you. We reserve the right to disqualify and remove anyone from the course who has any of the above items or does not act in a safe manner. All participants agree to abide by and accept the rules of this race and abide by any decision of any race official concerning the runner’s ability to safely complete the race.

Unauthorized Runners
Non-registered runners are not permitted to run or walk within the boundaries of the official race
course.

Lost & Found
All items left at the event will be taken to the Finish Line area.
Two weeks after the event unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity. The Amish Country Half Marathon is not responsible for lost items.

FINISH AREA

Finish Line
The finish for all races will be located at the same location as the start line at Grace Mennonite Church. After the Finish Line runners will receive a commemorative medal, hot buttered noodles, sub sandwich, water, chocolate milk, and banana. Runners will need to keep making their way out of the finisher’s chute and into the food tent to receive these foods. Better Life Coffee, a nonprofit coffee ministry benefiting children in Nicaragua, will be on hand with coffee and donuts as well. Runners are encouraged to stick around, enjoy the band, eat the food, and cheer on their fellow runners!

RESULTS
Race results will be posted as soon as they are made available to us. Live tracking should be available via the Vertical Runner Race Management site.

Awards
An awards presentation will take place on the band stage located near the Finish Line. The awards will
be presented at approximately 9:00 a.m. for the 5k & 10k and 10:00 a.m. for the Half Marathon. The overall top three men and women in each of the races will receive cash awards. Age group awards, for all races will also be given to the top men and women in each age group. Awards will not be mailed out. Please stick around to receive your award. If you need to leave early, feel free to ask a race volunteer at the finish line area for your award.
Runners are eligible to win awards only for the event in which they are registered.

Age Group Awards
Top male and female finishers in all age categories will receive awards for the Half Marathon, 10k, & 5k: 14 and under, 15 – 19, 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+ You can win only one award.

Why Run the Amish Country Half Marathon?

The Amish Country Half Marathon course is a unique, challenging route, unlike most typical races. You’ll experience the gorgeous rolling hills, sprawling Amish countryside, and take in some of Ohio’s most beautiful farmland. Challenge your body, refresh your mind, and run with the locals on the back roads of Holmes County, and enjoy hot buttered noodles at the finish!

All proceeds from the Amish Country Half Marathon, 10k and 5k benefit Pure Gift of God, a local organization that helps fund adoptions all over the US and East Holmes Fire & EMS.

Start your day off by running the race, and stick around for the Ribfest and Harvest Festival Parade in downtown Berlin!
